WE HAVE A PLATFORM AND WE HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO THE BLACK COMMUNITY, OUR BLACK COMMUNITY, DANCERS AND TEACHERS,TO SPEAK UP.
We all have a part to play in creating real social change. Steps PDX is forever committed to creating a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds and abilities that not only represents a diverse range of individuals, but also gives access and value to voices of color. Solving injustice and systemic racism plaguing the Black community, will take everlasting empathy and dedication. We are dedicated to a sustained effort to educate ourselves, put in the work, have the conversations and turn our words into action, in order to create long-lasting change for a more equitable community.
Starting Monday, June 8th through Sunday, June 14, 100% of donations from our virtual classes will be donated to Urban League of Portland, one of Oregon’s oldest civil rights and social service organizations, empowering African-Americans and others to achieve equality in education, employment, health, economic security and quality of life.
